What a bassackwards thing to have to do to address a problem with
streaming radio. Then you also disable native streaming of local Ogg
content. Seems users have had mixed results using this as a
workaround:

I have a Squeezebox running SC 7.3.1 (just installed). I'm running
Windows XP Pro on my Linksys wireless network. I'm able to play
internet radio just fine, but cannot play anything from my music
library. All my music and programs are all on a single hard drive (no
external or separate drives).
I am currently running the newest version of Firefox. In the past when I
would be viewing Sqeezecenter in Home\Music Folder and enter the first
few keystrokes of say "Lis" for Liszt, the focus would immediately
highlight Liszt. Now when I do this nothing happens. I thought this

I'm looking for an existing Squeemote owner in the US who can test out
the next release of Squeemote, specifically the music services/radio
functionality and how it works with Pandora/Rhapsody as I am unable to
do this here in the UK. Drop me a PM. Thanks.

Probably - create your own new file types and add appropriate lines in a
custom-convert.conf file.
Examples would be AlienBBC which enables support of RealAudio over RTSP
or the AACplus which hooks into SC ICY handling but lets mplayer decode
AACplus into WAV.

Is there a way to transcode Icecast ogg/flac streams to native flac for
decoding on SB3? I'm not sure that sox knows what to do with an ogg/flac
stream.

Okay, this is a bit of a cross-post, but...
You indicate conversion of 96k to 48k files to SP. Do the files play
for you correctly at 48k on Squeezeplay? I ripped some audio from
concert DVDs, and am ending up with FLACs at 48k. They don't seem to
play correctly on squeezeplay (they seem to be
*Final update - everything works.* It took about 1-4 hours (not exactly
sure what the exact lag time is) for Squeezenetwork to update my Pandora
account status from free to paid. At that point, my Softsqueeze player
(3.7) started playing Pandora immediately (I'm still on 7.2.1). Good
times.

Well the whole thing is also a hint to community developers learn lua,
make a nice skin to SP (nudge nudge ) .
Somebody out there must be tempted.
Otherwise what is, is good and fast.
Besides that it is beta in my case this beats softsqueeze by a mile

I know there are some long-standing bugs that prevent me from streaming
ogg radio stations to my SB3, but it must be fairly easy to configure
Squeezecenter to transcode these for me. I can't seem to find a
solution to this in the forums, so I am wondering if anyone has a
solution they can share?
I think the interface would be great putting it in a touchscreen monitor
display, since it keeps things simple.
Altough the perfect thing for a desktop for me would be something like
the Songbird interface but for controlling Squeezecenter.

Ok, new question. I upgraded my "free" account to a paid subscription.

Personally I think SqueezePlay (Beta) is great.
Yes it's a very simple graphical interface, as opposed to to a Windows

sick of using SoftSqueeze.
For me SoftSqueeze is clunky and bug-ridden.

I think SC is on the right track, by not allowing any modification of

the plugin interface, for instance.
I too would -really- like a "needs attention" list - and the ability to
