My SlimP3 works only occasionally. The Player simply hangs - with the
now playing song on the screen or turns itself off. Then when unplug
the power and replug it in it goes off looking for dhcp and after a
little turns itself again.
Anyone able to solve this divine mystery?

What if you have 3000 folders in one directory? For example my system is

4mula1 got it right but I would assign a hard address to the device,

wasen't very good layout) So it reduces the number of folders scanned
when you go into it.

The plugin is for PC running SC. It will not install on SSODS and will
not work as your PC is generating the audio.
You need to use something like vlc or window media encoder to generate
a http stream of PC audio and then SC to play the stream.

Just try changing it to .2 IP based networks have some serious problems
if there are two devices with the same address.

I use iTunes to manage all my CD / podcast / video and movie content.
The trouble with this is that Slimserver is now picking up the contents
of the
podcasts, Tv Shows and Movies folders when scanning for new content. Is
there a way to exclude these directories or even a way to exclude
SqueezeCenter Settings/File Types/Disabled Audio File Extensions

You don't need to disable the router. Just don't connect anything to the
WAN port, disable DHCP, and voila, it's an AP.
It should have a static LAN IP in the same subnet as everything else.
Just put it on a different number from your gateway (eg use 192.168.1.2
instead of 192.168.1.1).

I can't figure out how to assign a different IP address to the router.

I had the same problem when I first installed the equipment. Assuming
it was a network reception problem, I moved both receivers, and the
problem went away.
Squeezecenter Help is quite useful. Its Server and Network Health
option allows you to monitor network reception and buffer fullness at

I am working on an SB On/Off and volume control plugin for the Denon AVP
via Ethernet, but there aren't many systems that can communicate in this
manner.
I plan on using iPeng with this plugin so I can control my AVP with the
iPod Touch and the songs with iPeng.
I still have to learn Perl a bit
