You don't need to disable the router. Just don't connect anything to the WAN port, disable DHCP, and voila, it's an AP. It should have a static LAN IP in the same subnet as everything else. Just put it on a different number from your gateway (eg use 192.168.1.2 instead of 192.168.1.1). --
