The OP of this tread has a Ready NAS so different issue . Crashed scan on win is pretty much always anti-virus or similar, set them to ignore *.MYD and *.MYI files etc . Latest culprit has been MSE comodo McAffe This will be less of an issue after 7.6 (I hope) OP's very short scanner

If I was in your position I'd use something like Nero BackITup4 Essentials which comes free with Verbatim drives. I paid £123 for a 2Tb one. You might want to consider a Windows Home Server which will host your music, make backing up of ALL your stations and do a lot more besides. -- spile
