Has anyone heard of the Raspberry Pi project?
It is a ARM GNU/Linux computer the size of a deck of playing cards with
a cost of $25. HDMI out, USB, Ethernet, can be powered off USB. This
sure would be an easy way to stash a dedicated Squeezebox server just
about anywhere.
Here is a YouTube video
Sounds like the "ExecuteScript" plugin will do exactly what you want, it
will allow you to run a script on power on and power off. Currently it's
only marked as compatible with server version 7.6 and earlier, but it
might work with 7.7 also but you would have to manually install it.

Problem solved, you were right in your first suggestion, turns out all I
had to do was reset mysqueezebox.com password and put that new password
in the setings - myqueezbox.com and voila suddenly all my apps
(inckuding Last.FM yay!) appeared in my Apps when in "my computer"
mode.
Many thanks all.
Could it be that your computer running LMS doesn't have Internet access?
If it does, please restart the server, I'm frequently having an issue on
my MAC where the server loses the connection to MySB whenever the
network configuration changes.

Hi Pippin,
Thanks for your reply, i have checked that MySqueezebox.com account
email address and password are saved in the server's web interface as
you suggest.

Thanks for your feedback epoch1970. I went to the docs (didn't notice
the link before) but unfortunately the CLI exposed here is to control
the server (or a client) what I'm trying to achieve is quiet
different.
I'll try to describe it differently.

No, it works the same whether you are updating or downgrading the player
firmware version. The brightness option was for the older players *if*
it did not get an update prompt or if you wanted to force another
update. Also the SB3 player had an option to turn off auto-update,

I've had this issue since using Squeezebox but haven't worried about it
because my initial purchase was a Boom. Now that I'm using some Duets,
and an android phone and an iPod Touch running Squeezebox interfacing
software, the need to display the album covers correctly has become
more important.
Hi, I just got a tablet, Galaxy tab 8.9, and one of the reasons I wanted
it was to get squeezecommander.
It is great !!!
I was just wondering if you have any idea when a tablet version will be
introduced, cause I can't wait.

I could do that, but the LMS has to stay up, and so, with the iphone

I may be misunderstanding what you are trying to do. But for switching
between your local LMS and mysqueezebox.com, even though you can do it
via Net::UDAP (as you've done), it would seem to me to be a lot easier
to do it via the web interfaces for LMS and mysqueezebox.com.

I just installed some more plugins, including BBC iPlayer extras.
Didn't appear in the SBT menu, under 'Internet Radio' - I had to
power-cycle the SBT to get this to happen. Same thing with SBR.
This hasn't always been the way this works, has it? (I don't believe
so).

You said that it worked for years. Now it does not. I expect you use
the SB fairly regularly? Daily? So ... what happened on the day that
it stopped working? On the PC, on the network or with the SB?
Something clearly did change...
