I am very satisfied with the functionality of my Squeezeboxes. I LOVE
them... Truly love them. Last night we were without electricity for
about 10 hours and I really missed them even more than I missed my
coffee maker this morning. The electric came on at about 6:30 and I'm
now enjoying my music
What I seem to be missing (and I wonder if I'm overlooking something) is
the fact that nowhere I can find a list of active alarms and when they
will trigger. I would have expected this on the stand-by clock screen,
somewhere below the alarm bell icon.
Player Settings Alarm Clock, all set Alarms are listed. You can
move Alarm Clock folder to your Home menu for easier access.
Might check with the author of the Custom Clock applette, maybe that
person can add the next scheduled alarm to the clock screen.
Ok, I tried to get this running on a Touch connected to LMS running on
windows.
I find small bits of confusing information about this then i search
around.
Things I maybe must do:
- Get LAME encoder
- Get faad de(?)coder
- Install quicktime
- Not install quicktime
- Get ffmpeg
- Make changes to
1. Get ffmpeg
2. Put the rules above into a custom-convert.conf simple text file (use
notepad) in the same directory as the convert.conf file.
3. restart LMS.
edit:
The above rules are for linux - they'll need a few small changes for
Windows. I'll need to investigate but only if you are
I have had a squeezebox for many years, still have it in fact but it's
in the drawer.
I got an AppleTv at Christmas and haven't looked back. The device is not
perfect but it's a damn sight more reliable than the sb2 it replaced.
With this AppleTv I can not only listen to all my music but watch
Thanks for helping,
yes I would really like this to work.
I have added the ffmpeg.exe to the server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
folder and added your lines to custom.convert.conf.

I think the conf file should work without change with Windows.
- Make sure the indented lines in the conf file are indented by a single
tab char and not multiple spaces. This can happen if you cut and
paste.
- after LMS restart what is showing for MPEG-4 under WebUI
Settings/Advanced/FileTypes
OK,
after changing spaces to tabs I now have ffmpeg showing up in settings:
(avaktiverat=deactivated)

But then I try to play the stream it say (my translation) : Error:

I didn't find a solution to my trouble with squeezeslave, so I switch to
squeezeplay + xvfb and it is perfect.
See https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=56769 to get squeezeplay
for archlinux, just need to add xvfb (a dummy xserver)
I forgot I added a few extra MIME types to the types.conf file to handle
the some of the stranger types that some podcasts use.
Add ,video/mp4 to the mp4 line after audio/m4a,audio/x-m4a,audio/mp4
in types.conf file and restart LMS and it should look like

Hi,
I am using a Boombox and Ipad as a player and receive the No Audio Data

Yes, now it works!
Great help!
Now I just want to be able to click a weblink in android and open it
with a Squeezebox app, but that's another topic.

Or £250 for a device that just plays music and from what I can see the

my receivers where it would go as far as getting the blue LED (it has a

I did the factory reset, and of course it worked (as I knew it would).
This happens about 2-3 times a year with the Duet. I will probably put
it on Ebay in the next few weeks, I have a spare multipurpose SB3 that I
will use for bedroom duty.

officially worked on and thus available for new OS updates that, over

However, the way I see it, for the foreseeable future it is easy to
