Thanks, already did (1 & 11). But it would not work as wireless bridges
and repeaters need to be on the same channel as the router (as the
router can not use 2 channels at the same time.

I dont know. Id rather pay the $120 every year to buy songs off iTune
rather than waste them on some music rental services. I have so many
monthly payments that, despite my love for music, I have not signed up
for any music rental

Thanks gary
After posting this I did try the vortexbox update but it didn't seem to
update lms.
I logged in via using the vortexbox ip address if this is the same vb
gui that you mentioned.
do I need to connect a keyboard and monitor as an alternative way of
updating this? I can get one from w
That's probably because the Synology needs to transcode for the Receiver
and maybe it's not fully up to the task.

I've just tried installing the newer version of LMS sofware. I'd guessed
that as Vortexbox has effectively converted the old desktop into a Linux
based server that I should choose the Linux RPM from the dropdown.
However when I try and do this windows (on the laptop I'm connecting to

I've been running AG for 2+ years with no problems - security or
otherwise. It runs 24/7 on my mac mini and plays nice with with Mac
firewall. The iphone app has also worked flawlessly. Both the web and
mobile apps handle album art better than LMS.
I have recently bought a Synology DS212j NAS server and have transferred
my music to it from my Mac.
I'm now streaming from the NAS over my wireless network to a Squeezebow
receiver into a DAC.
Since using the NAS to distribute I'm getting an annoying crackling at

Don't hold your breath, I don't believe this is going to come this
year.
Released now, they would have no software for it and as opposed to
Google, Apple usually doesn't do stupid things like that.

I have a mid 2010 imac and mini, both are too old to run airplay. I also
have a generation 2 ATV which does support airplay.
The silence is killing me. I've voted for the bug.

After skipping it may take a moment until it sync back completely. If it
gets out of sync during skipping, the server needs to process the
resulting timestamps to find out how much it's wrong and to compensate
for it.
Normal drift during playback should not get that far but be compensated
away muc
Software player is something like SqueezePlay which runs on your
computer. It emulates a hardware player, plays LMS audio through the
computer speakers, can be used to control other hardware players. This
is different than the LMS web UI.
What is your LMS version? LMS > Settings > Information
Heh. I came with a nasty idea to test the improved synching claim. I
hooked my iPhone to the line in port of my Boom, set it to "always on"
and then I synched the Boom and iPeng on a few songs I know perfectly
well. Both devices are on the wifi network, test songs were FLAC.

I've just taken a look at your blog post. I had somehow missed the
improved syncing that came with the previous release. This is truly a
