Thanks. I've set the port to 9001, but I don't want to test it 'till I
have to -- I don't want all the trouble of waiting and worrying for it
to connect :o I'll report back when the next reboot occurs.

Sorry I can't. Quality is a perception and is personal. Unless you mak
Hello there,
looking forward to seeing where this leads to !
Since I'm mostly listening to local music, I understand I won't be the
primary target, but that's not something "frozen".
And, juste like others here, I'm concerned about what will happen when
my SB harware comes to fail.
So here are
Thanks and understood. Their stream was better to my hears back in May.
I am comparing with another RTBF station, PureFM where it's obvious: the
stream quality of that other station is much better.
I am afraid they are mostly dedicated and testing their stream to
iPhone/iPad user. E.g. it is no

What is the stream format and bit rate for those two streams? Ex: if
one is 192k mp3 and the other is 64k aac, that could be your
difference.
The same: 128Kbps CBR MP3 for both "PureFM" and "La Premiere".
PureFM sounds neat. La premiere sounds like a 64K radio.

Updates! - Long live LMS!
Was about to post asking about the status of the debian repository at
http://debian.slimdevices.com but I see someone already mentioned it on
page 3.
Presumably I can wait for the debian repository to be updated and don't
need to switch to manual updates going forward?

What do you mean with -playlists still do not work-?
I'm currently on 7.7.2 and playlists work just fine.
1 x SB3, 1 x SB Boom, 1 x SB Radio and 2 x SB Touch - all wireles
I am able to control my Squeezebox classic fine from web, actual remote
or even iPeng on iPhone. Select songs, etc...
But it will NOT play. When I press Play button (which shows pause in
effect) nothing happens. I can't Pause it.. but it isn't actually
playing either.
I updated to latest server
Try an Xilink reset: remove power from the SB3, then point the IR remote
at the player and hold down the "1" button on the remote. While still
holding down the "1" button, re-apply power to the SB3.
NB: Sometimes a third hand is helpful for the above maneuver.

I have a feeling that there sometimes is more than bitrate missing here
, many radio providers probably do other things to the sound compression
eq ? the 64k can sometimes be mono .
My own experiments with for example 128k mp3 seems to sound better than
any such radio stream , I use lame and the
Hmm. Check the server log (in the web ui go to Settings > Information
tab > Logitech Media Server Log File) and post anything interesting --
such as error messages -- here.
Is the progress bar on the web ui doing anything? Was the Classic
working correctly before? How about the volume level?

I have media server on my desktop and a couple of sb3's around the

I would like to use my i-phone 5 to control one of the SB3's but don't

You need an App :)
There's a free one from Logitech and iPeng from me (not free).
Search the App Store for Squeezebox.
If you run the server, everything else you need is WiFi

ok so I downloaded the free app for now to sii if I can get it working
then I will purchase the full app.
I can now see my 2 SB3's and their current playlist and it updates when
the songs change, but I can't change the songs from the app?
I should be able to right ?

No recent errors in logs.
In web ui and app, progress bar is changing but not in Classic.
When I press pause button in web ui, song restarts but then shows pause
button.
The Classic used to work just fine.

You can add tracks to the end of the playlist.
That's the idea behind iPeng party: it's a party app that does allow
your guests to add tracks but not to change or destroy your overall
playlist or otherwise manipulate your player (synchronization,
volume,...)

music folder, stop/start and change volume ?
