With LMS you don't need DLNA for playing music files on another computer
on your network. You can do that through network shares. Once LMS has
scanned the files on the other computer, they appear and function
exactly as if they were local files.
As for games, Netflix, etc, I have no idea.

What I want: A music server that connects to my audio system and plays

In an attempt to figure out where my scans were going wrong, I changed
some of the advanced scan settings to debug, then started a scan. LMS
stopped, and every time I tried to restart it failed. It would say
starting and then stop without ever reaching running. That prevented
me from entering the
By the way, I had one other problem that for a moment seemed to be
connected to LMS, but was not. I was getting garbled signal with Hi-Res
audio files, but then I realized that I had substituted a new optical
cable at one point. It worked fine with low res files, and I had not
tried hi-res,

Hi,
I'm running linux mageia 3. I installed the rpm without problem but it
doesn't start.
My perl version is :
# perl -v
This is perl 5, version 16, subversion 3 (v5.16.3) built for
x86_64-linux-thread-multi
When I try to run it manually, I have the following :
# /usr/libexec/squeezeboxserver
I added support for Perl 5.16/64 bit only a few weeks ago to 7.8. You
might give that a try.

when he was good he was truly great.

I was wondering if there is any consideration currently being given to
including the ability to play multichannel FLACs on future SB-system
development, in particular sending a digital bitstream out the HDMI
port? If anyone could give me any information, I'd greatly appreciate
it!
There is no future Squeezebox development. The line was discontinued
about a year ago.
