I think given the fact that a 'modern' external DAC can be plugged into
the SB's, it's kind of a moot point whether the internal DAC's have held
up.

FLAC and Apple lossless are native, so I guess I am OK. I hope it
recognizes m4a as Apple lossless.

The device/sound page only allows you to select the goodness, which I
suppose applies to mp3s.
I wish iTunes let me rip to FLAC, but it does not.

87 has been around several years. You can't go by the dates of the
actual files (2013) as the files get recreated for posting every so
often.

I also just play local FLACs and don't use streaming services much
except the BBC and occasionally other radio stations.
If I wanted to use one or more streaming services such as Qobuz, Spotify
etc I'd have to pay for that anyway, well over £100 per year each. I

I listen 90% of the time to my own music libray (10,000 FLAC files) and
10% of the time to BBC via one of the 3rd party plugins. I have never
used mysqueezebox.com nor any other online service. I'm not interested
in Spotify or anything like that.
