I've been using squeezebox for about 8 years now, streaming wirelessly
from my laptop but it would be much more convenient if it could access
my mp3's without having to turn on a computer, is there any hard drive
or network drive that is is available that can be accessed by squeezebox

Just buy another pi2 and run lms on that! You could try running it on
the pi2 with picoreplayer on but not s sure how well it will perform
with both running. For £30 to have a solid lms server probably worth
getting a second one.
