There are a lot of new music playback software solutions out there now.
Roon is a good one.
But Squeezebox server is still great. It was way ahead of it's time, is
still very relevant today and has an active community supporting it.

The feature of the Boom and Radio that
Audio Pro ADDON C5 is the best Boom replacement I found so far.
It has preset buttons for internet radio and with the AirPlay bridge
plugin you can use it as a ordinary SB.
SB Touch to Hegel H90, Boston Acoustics A26.
SB 3 to Audio Pro T3.
AirPlay Bridge to Audio Pro C5 and Hegel H90.
