I've cured my problems, I put 7.4.2 back on!
I saw no advantages to 7.5 and if they're stopping supporting the older
players then there's no point being on the bleeding edge anymore.

SlimServer without scanning the iTunes library.

(Even if you don't actually have a playlist in iTunes called Podcasts,

Being a Playlist, you'll find it in the 'Playlists' submenu of 'Browse

Now, if you have your iTunes playlists in SlimServer, but
They should be in a 'podcasts' playlist if your iTunes scan is working

My uneducated guess is that cranking up the volume on the Squeezebox you are
exceeding the limits of the DAC. When you do that, the analog output will
have some very sharp edges.
You could confirm that by looking at the analog outputs with an
oscilloscope, something that most people do not have.

Yes, that's the way to do it.
can you read your adsl stats from your modem? snr margin and downlink
attenuation? if you can then see if they change when you connect your
SB. this could indicate an interferrence problem.

It's something to do with which account your Slimserver service is
