I would try a factory reset.
Instead of pressing the number 1 during boot up as you did with the
xilinx reset, press the ADD (+) button.
If that doesn't work, contact support at [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
they will be able to help you out.

ReadyNAS just doesn't have the processing power
to complete that process. Native file formats should stream fine.

Try going here through your Controller menus:
Settings > Advanced > Album Sort Method
Change it to Artist, Album or Artist, Year, Album
