Roon client is a bloated pig, requires the Linux port of Windows .NET
runtime. What a mess.
LMS client is native Linux, tiny, easily installed. The obvious first
choice technically.
Sadly, influential reviewers all use Roon, so it is marketings first
choice.

I turned gapless off because it was stopping at the end of each song via
UPnP, but that was several firmware updates ago. Sounds like WiiM has
fixed it now.

OK, just tested the Airplay bridge->WiiM Mini. Works OK, except no
album art displayed. Album art displays fine with UPnP, and of course,
UPnP will work up to the 24/192 limit of the WiiM. I think the only
thing I had to configure for UPnP with the WiiM was to turn gapless off,
as it would quit

It supports UPnP, wouldn't bother with the more limited Airplay. UPnP
works nicely, LMS->WiiM Mini.

If youre looking to enhance your career, yes, Perl is going the way of

If you want to stick to pure Python, you might have a look here:

Not anywhere near as slick as piCorePlayer, but fun to play with, and
quite functional.

Tidal offers a veteran's discount - $5.99/month if you've ever served,
at CD quality FLAC, which is the most anyone really needs. Works for
me.

It will run in the Linux container. Unfortunately, the IP addresses on
the Linux container won't be available outside of the ChromeBook, unless
there's some workaround I'm not aware of. It's a very secure OS.

If it's anything like the Sonos Amp that it copied, it should be a UPnP
target for the LMS UPnP/DLNA plugin. Install the plugin, which should
find the Powernode if so.

Unless youre using an Android device, it should show up in your browser
at pcp.local, much simpler than typing an IP address. You can change
the host name in the admin page, so it will become [myhostname].local.
Append :9000 to that, and youll get the LMS server page, e.g,
lmsserver.local:9000
