Yes, in retrospect, the thrill of the whole thing for me was gathering
the right hardware, finding and installing the software, and making it
work. Once I had that conquered, I lost interest.

How do you plan to get firmware/software updates with no internet
access? My radio had the problem with the burst of noise when the alarm
went off when I first got it, but it no longer does that...I presume it
was fixed with a firmware/software update.
