Okay, I got it to work by copying /etc/slimserver/server.prefs to
/var/lib/squeezecenter/prefs/server.prefs as per http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=281569";>this

I've turned on lots of debugging options, but the only errorlike info
that the log is showing me is
Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::PrefSync::_syncUp_error (390) Sync Up
failed: No such player
which I don't think is related. The silence is very poignant.
I just upgraded to the Debian squeezecenter package, and now when I
select a track and hit Play, the player displays the name of the track
but there is no progress bar and no sound. Help!!

Thanks -- I downloaded a VBR fixing tool, but it told me that the tracks
were not VBR. Any other thoughts on what could be causing this?

I'm running SC7 on Debian etch; I had the same issue with 6.5.4.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? I can upload one of the files if that
will help in diagnosing.
