Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?

Having committed myself to a squeezebox touch based infrastructure just before Logitech pulled the plug, I'm obviously very motivated for this to succeed. My main drive is ultimate audio excellence for my main system, where I use an Audiolab / Lakewest MDAC, but I also have SBT and Jogglers with

I have now got my Wandboard and have installed CommunitySqueeze and once I'd deleted the ALSA parameters, it plays though my Audiolab MDAC via a hub, and sounds great, BUT although it will play 24/96 files, it seems to be coming out as 24bit 44.1kHz. I'm not sure where I set the max sample rate.

[slim] BBC Radio 4 streaming

2016-12-17 Thread jemhayward
I stream radio four in the morning, and at dinner time. I have a decent internet connection, but I get constant rebuffering. This is the case when running LMS on a high spec PC and on my current PiCoreplayer setup on a RPi. I stream Tidal all evening without a glitch. Is it just a case that th

I tried the MP3 stream this morning, and it was just the same. Players are both wireless and wired, and that makes no difference either. Does anyone have a setup that gives reliable radio4 that I could copy? I think that if everyone had this issue, we'd have a lot of people shouting about it!

ISP is A&A and they have done some optimisation at their end to help streaming, but to no avail, we can stream films etc without a glitch, Tidal is perfect, but BBC R4 is awful. jemhayward's Profile: http://forums.slimdevic

I'd assumed the stream from the mysqueezebox.com app, and the tunein urls were different, but thinking about it, they are possibly not. I'll install the iplayer plugin (I'm not sure if I've tried that before, but it's worth a go...) --

Update: Using the iPlayer plugin on my RPi system is definitely better, despite using a higher bitrate. It has just stopped one this morning, but otherwise it's relatively glitch-free, though not quite as stable as Tidal etc. So, I think there is very little bandwidth at the BBC end for their M

Do I have the facility to choose DASH over HLS via the iPlayer plugin? How do I know which one I'm using? the LMS web interface says AAC, but that is just the codec - can't recall it saying HLS or DASH, but I'm at work, so can't (easily) look at it!

[slim] Sleep Alarm

I have alarms that wake up my SBT in the morning, but I have to set sleep manually when I go to bed. If I forget, I wake up in the early hours when Radio Paradise puts on something less melodic! Is there any way to set an "alarm" that puts the machine to sleep at a pre-programmed time. ---

Amazon have just launched Amazon Unlimited with Hi Res playback. Would be really tempting if someone could make a plugin or app that works as well as the Tidal one on MySqueezebox.com - Amazon being such a big player will probably kill off the likes of Tidal and Quobuz as they won't be able to c
