If the Grace device has Chromecast Audio built in, then its should work
with a DLNA controller app on your phone, using the DLNA server built
into the LMS media server. This is similar to the setup I have with a
physical Chromecast Audio device. I use "HiFi cast" on my android phone

I have heard that CC-audio does not support gapless playback. Is this
true?
That would be the deal killer for me. I do not care about high bit rate
(mainly play mp3) but play a lot of live albums.

I have had a Squeezebox Duet for a few years now. I mainly use it to
play music stored on my PC, and occasionally listen to Podcasts and
Internet radio. I have two Android devices I use to play music, in
addition to the Duet, but I never use while house audio.
I got a GBox Q Android set top

Look at Grace Digital for a range of "Traditional" style internet
radios. I have
I have one of these. I would definitely recommend it. You can load it
up with TuneIn radio to get any radio station you want, add Poweramp for
mp3s, a Podkicker podcast player, and Sqeezeliite and you are good to
go. Amazon keep having a sale, I have seen it as low as $130.
The only downside
I use squeezer on my phone and have also duet. I much prefer using the
duet controller to the phone. Maybe I am just used to it, but it seems
much easier to navigate with the "hard" scroll wheel than a touch
screen, and I like the easy to find and use track forward/back and pause
keys. I do
This seems wrong. My setup has a duet and two devices using
squeezeplay. I can control any of the devices either with my duet
controller or the squeezer app on my phone.

I was browsing around the web and I came across the Uyesee SoundMate M2.
Amazon sells it under a slightly different name for $44.

Its plays FLAC, uses DLNA and can stream directly from a phone or a

That's what I use mine for. I installed a copy of Alarm Clock plus. I
use this because it has a dimmer, so you can leave it on during the
night and still read the time without blinding you. You can also set up
the soft keys at the bottom to instant go to your radio app, and get the
radio to
Updated the Avy when I got home today, now tunein and poweramp are
compatible. Good job Zettaly, keep up the good work.

That's great news. Did they say anything about PowerAmp? I could not
get that installed either. Its a shame that a smart speaker device
supports so few audio

How does the sound compare to the Boom? That's what I find most
incredible about it. Something the size of a big clock-radio that
sounds like something much bigger.
I have never heard a boom (I have a Duet on my main stereo). I would
describe the sound as OK. Nothing special,
Another option is a Zettaly Avy. It,s a boom style box with speakers
with a touch screen between hat runs android. I just bought on and like
it very much. They cost $200 on Amazon now, but a couple of weeks ago
they were running a deal for $135. You can load Squeezeplayer to get

Mine just arrived. I want to play with it for a while before I write a
full review. Initial impressions are good. I was able to load
squeezeplay and control it with squeezer on my phone with no problem.
Tunein is not compatible but rad.io works well

The Boom sounds better, particularly the low end. As was previously

I haven't tried syncing yet.

I think you misunderstood me:
what I want is:
Hard disks - NONE
Power supply - same wall wart as a squeezebox
Disk controller - NONE
The idea woul be to use the NAS as the disk drive for the squeezecenter
box, or to have the option of adding a USB drive.

made a small
device that ran Squeezcenter, and I was able to attach it to my

would do would be to run Squeezecenter. No Hard drives, just the
basics.
How many people would buy this? How about making one Logitech?

Mine works again after downloading the latest update from AVG, (at 7pm
Pacific time). AVG has a history of false positives this is the
third one I have had in the 4 years I have been using them. I did not
re-install anything, just downloaded the update.
