I guess I could get the same effect running multiple instances of
SqueezeCenter on different ports but that seems clumsy (not that this
request is elegant)

I turn off CSRF protection in "Settings" => "Status" => Security.
Not certain what that's all about, but examining the log shows it is
regarded as a security risk.
4) Now I can add the appropriate URLs to "My Streams" on the Chumby,
and it happily flips
