I have been trying two diff installs. 1) WHS & 2) Win7 client. I gave up
on the Win7 because I was not making any progress, went back to my once
working WHS install. I get diff symptoms all the time. Today LMS sees
SB2, I begin to play on LMS and elapsed time shows progress on LMS, but

OK, so I turned off LMS on my WHS and installed it on a DT system. I
configured the two SB's to use this new LMS install.
I still get no sound and logs show this:

Agreed. although it's specific to the Squeezebox. I can stream netflix
and pandora on other devices with no issues.
my WHS shows no issues with DNS or DHCP.
Is there a network tool I can run to dig deeper?

OK, thanks found it. I was looking on LMS client, it's on WHS.
Diagnostics shows all is OK for ALL pings, ports, IP's

I am SO tired of this. Every day I get to trouble shoot why I am
getting no sound from either of my SB's. WTH is going on?
Here's what I have...

WHS runs Drivepool, total music share is 1TB
I have a SB2 and SB3(Classic) running in sync.
Music is either Flac or 320 Mp3
When I start to play a song, it starts, plays for 20-30 seconds, pauses,
then begins playing form the be

I'd have to disagree. I cannot get SC7 to work at all on my W2003
server. It barely plays music and then stops. I even let it stew over
night and index all the music files. I gave up and went back to 6.5.4.
I guess I'll wait for 7.1 or 7.2 and try then.

6.5.4 is installed and running once again.
I can either stay put or give SC7 another try. Perhaps if I leave
6.5.4 in place and install SC7 over/along with it and let it fully
index the music files, I will have better luck.

ust gonna let it scan the lib and see if it begins to
respond again. Hopefully it'll be working again this time tomorrow.
Just seems completely stupid to me that I have to go thru this pain
EVERY time I upgrade the sw and that the UI becomes completely
non-responsive dur
here really needs to be a better way to get this working IMO.

nning my lib which takes a while with 38K songs to index.
So right now it very SLOW.
What is the recommended install procedure to go to SC7? Install over a
working copy of ss6 and then have it pick up the name/settings or do a
clean install?

6.3.1 and a factory reset (cycle power and hold Add+) seem to have
helped. I listened to it all last night and only heard one pause. I
will continue to test things and may try some Flac again.

Well if it was a server performance issue, wouldn't you expect it to
show problems on the SB2 as well as the SB1? The fact that my SB2
perfoms AOK leads me to believe it's an isolated problem with the SB1.

OK, that fixed the playback problem, well kind of
I now get audio drop outs every 20-30 seconds during playback of Apple
Lossless. This is on my wired SB1. No problems with MP3s.
Any ideas how to elimnate this new problem?
