Can anyone recommend a good free tool for converting FLACs to MP3s? I've
converted my CD library to FLAC and don't want to go though the hassle
of dealing with discs just to make files for my porable MP3 player.

This bug has been open since 2004 and Im starting to wonder if Slim
Devices has any idea how to fix this...
Perhaps someone for Slim Devices could provide me/us with an update?

II with 128M of memory. You may also need a faster CPU if you wish to
use multiple Squeezeboxes with a single server computer, or if the
music library is very large
Anybody have some real world experience as to what it would take?

I've been having the same problems. I've noticed the SqueezeNetwork
website acting flaky too...sometimes my SBs appear in the drop-down
list, sometimes all 3 are missing.
