I created individual folders for a Haydn London Symphonies boxed set
(Symphonies 93 to 104). In the Music Folder, Squeezebox Server shows
them like this:
Symphony No. 100
Symphony No. 101
- / -
Symphony 93
Symphony 94
etc.

Thanks, but I don't know if we're on the same page here. I am talking
about folder, not file naming. I thought this kind of error wouldn't
appear by now in computing. Evidently, for Squeezebox Server 100
comes before 94 because number 1 comes before number 9, and so on.
Weird.

I am sorry, but Windows shows the folders in the order I wrote them,
Symphony No. 93, No. 94 and so on. XMPlay does it correctly too.

Just like 6.5.4 and a couple of beta 7s before, the new SlimCenter 7
works perfectly in my Vista system. When Vista is in standby, my SB2
doesn't work.

Are you sure that scanner, slim and slimtray are checked as firewall
exceptions? Did you install SS as an user with administrator
privileges? I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the latest nightly
checking the automatic option.

In my case the SlimServerMySQL service was also stopped, but I was able
to set it and the SlimServer service to Automatic and that was all I
needed. My SS and SB2 work perfectly in Vista.

Hmm, I now get an error: Can't open to write to C:\Program

I forgot to say that SlimTray2.exe stops SS right away when required,
however, the icon stays illuminated; with the original SlimTray.exe I
have to click twice for SS to stop, but if I remember well the icon
turns off.

I found another Vista workaround that also worked for me on XP: on
SlimTray, check Automatically run at login; run services.msc and
set the SlimServer service to Automatic (not Delayed Start).

Both SB and Slimserver work well for me on Vista Ultimate. EAC works
better than on XP and my lowly Chaintech AV-710 card sounds better with
Vista's own drivers (I haven't tried the new VIA Envy24 Vista beta
drivers).

I have a formatting problem on the default Slimserver screen. The
Current Playlist rectangle looks a bit superimposed on the Now
Playing song. It looks as if a blank line is missing between the two.

Version 5 of this router is known to have problems like slow internet
access and losing IP addresses for no reason. The latest 'firmware
upgrade' (http://tinyurl.com/cg5gw) solved both problems on my unit and
my internet speeds now seem twice as fast.

The solution was easy enough: I uninstalled Slimserver; searched for
perl58.dll and found it in the Windows Temp folder, copied it to
Windows/System, reinstalled Slimserver and this time got no error
message.

I installed it on a different computer (Windows XP SP2) and it gives a
similar erro about the perl58.dll file. I don't think this is a
coincidence, so there may be something wrong with the .exe file at the
download site.
