I had the same problem (got the same message) but it was because of me not waiting long enough for slimserver to start after a server reboot. When I tried to start the slimserver manually (and it was already in starting state in the background) that same message came up. This was on Windows XP Professional SP2 with Slimserver 6.5.1.
