them come with a free trial period. I'd suggest trying another solution
and see how it works on your computer before buying it, then decide if

Thanks - this seems to have done the trick.
My only remainign problem is that slim.exe is using a lot of memory =
183,660K, and slowing down my computer a lot. Is this usual?

I recently loaded v6.5.1, and was able to load my library of ~300G of
music via itunes, linked to an external hard drive.

option 'use iTunes', does that help?

Ahh OK. This generally happens when *something* has changed with your
iTunes library. In this case, you might need to specify the path to the
iTunes music library.xml file as well as the actual library. Go to
server settings - iTunes (from the pull down menu along the top).
