Just to update everyone, purchased a Touch remote direct from Logitec
UK, £20 inc delivery, works just as good as the original. Thanks to
everyone for their help.

Good find. I tried looking the way it's found on the US site, which is
by going to the Touch support page, then "Replacement Parts", the
problem being that the UK site doesn't have

It's fairly common for the IR emitter in the remote to suffer from a
bad contact. You can test this by looking at it through a digital
camera. The emitter will glow when operated & viewed through the
camera.
In a pinch the SB3/Classic will also recognize JVC_DVD IR codes,
including from a programmable IR remote with such JVC_DVD IR codes.

Not sure if you have access to an itouch, ipad, or iphone but if you do
for less than 10 bucks you can get an app, ipeng or squeezepad (ipad
only), which work extremely well. Logitech even has a free app which
is very basic but gets the job done better than the old remote that
comes with the clas
The good news is that you can use the infrared that comes with the
Touch, which is also available as a separate item from Logitech in many
countries. The bad news is that the UK doesn't appear to be one of those
countries. If you can somehow get your hands on a Touch remote, that
would be the easi
