The original SliMP3 remote was a JVC DVD player remote, you may have
some luck if you have a code for that. It's unlikely you will find a
cheap universal remote that has a built-in code for the regular
Squeezebox remote.

If you are adventerous, you can do something like I did with my DirecTV
remote: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73546.
In short, I setup my DirecTV remote to use JVC DVD codes. With certain
logging in squeezebox server enabled, I was able to see what codes were
generated for each
JVC DVD did the trick. :)
I looked up JVC DVDs for my particular remote and OFA came back with 3
suggested codes which can be used on either the DVD or VCR device
keys.
