Replying to my own post, with a bit more info. It looks like the slimp3 device is continuously querying for the IP network block's network address (this is on my server computer which runs squeezebox server): $ sudo tcpdump -n arp host slimp3 or ip host 192.168.1.9 tcpdump: verbose output suppre
