Hi, I'm running OS X 10.5.1 and SlimServer 6.5.4. I also had the
problem of SlimServer not autostarting when set to "When system boots".
Per the suggestion of tech support I changed it to "When I log in". It
autostarts just fine now. I do use automatic login to my account, so
there is no effect
I can not get Slimserver to start. It doesn't start on boot up, and it
does not start manually. I have OS 10.5.1 and I have tried every
Slimserver from 6.5.4 to 7.0. I have also loaded the preference pane
in the firewall panel of preference. Any other suggestions?

I don't know about autostarting - I haven't tested it - but SS 7.0 build
dec 01 made my day! Everything's working dandy here!

I've tried both 6.5.5 and the new 7.0. Neither autostarts when my
Leopard 10.5.1 SERVER boots up.
However both versions seems to work fine with my Slim Device one the
service is manually started.
Good job on the new interface in 7.0!

Did you try the 6.5.5 build? It should fix the issue, indeed.
Michael
I have installed 10.5.1 from the Apple web site. I guess Slim is
watching this and hopefully SS ver 6.5.5 will fix it. or maybe some
preference or other has to be trashed, but I am not game to experiment.

Squeezeboxes and Transporter started just fine under Tiger and after
upgrading to Leopard they no longer start.

Slim server 6.5.4 will not auto start even tho I have set it to start at
system boot, with Mac OS 10.5.1.
I can start it manually and it works well. Any ideas how I can get it
to auto start ?
