i believe SBS should support id3 in FLAC, (as legacy support) but i also
believe anyone reading this or any tag editor should properly clean up
their files, since there no longer is a reason to have id3 in FLAC. i
strip any id3s from my flacs.
in EAC, make sure your FLAC config has turned off

I originally left ID3 support out when FLAC moved to Audio::Scan, but
there were a lot of angry people who I believe use ID3 mostly for FLAC
artwork. These files were tagged before FLAC supported artwork
natively.
I just ripped this album with the latest EAC. The wrong date was
inserted from the CDDB. I went back and fixed it with foobar. The
change, however doesn't show up in Version: 7.6.1 - r33110.
Here's what squeezebox shows me.
ALBUM: Midnight Man
ARTIST: Davy Graham
COMM: [ [ XXX, , Track 2
You have ID3 tags in your FLAC files, most editors won't let you modify
those, but I think they will let you remove them.

Thanks. I had to delete the tags using foobar and then redo them. I'm
surprised mp3tag doesn't read/edit them.

You don't want to just remove the ID3 fields (or frames), you want to
remove the whole ID3 tag. You can do this very easily with Mp3tag by
cutting and then
