Yes to server has to boot and SB3 get's impatient you don't have to
press more buttons just wait for it.

Wow - cool, now it works!!!
Somehow the SB3 got stuck initially but now, if I have Mac and SB3 in
standby (connected via WLAN) and I push the red power button on the
remote the following happens:
On the first push I get "can't connect to squeezecenter"
on the second push I get "Waking up sque
Sure, but this is wireless. You can't use normal WOL because the
wireless interface on the Mac is asleep. This sort of swaps it around
so you notify the access point you want it to wake up and then the Mac
checks in periodically and the AP tells it to wake up. See that link

SB3 manages over wlan but the server must be wired to the router, this
have nothing to do with the OS, same for Linux or win .
The Case is that there is no wifi cards that supports WOL , only the
ethernet nic /card port does.

The new Apple OS X 10.6 offers a Wake on WLAN-feature.
As I know SB3 can make use of "wake on LAN" - is it even possible to do
that via WLAN in this case? I have tried it but nothing happens.
My iMac is ready (waiting in standby). My airport hardware complies
with the requirements.
