Apologies if this has been discussed before... I've got SlimServer 6.2.1, 6.2.2, and 6.5b (6.2.2 and 6.5b builds as of 20th April). I wanted to see if there was any real gain in moving from 6.2.1 to 6.2.2.
As a side note, one thing I noticed is that 6.2.2 seems to consume a great deal of CPU when starting - more than 6.2.1, which slows my system down. However, I also noticed that it seems to run a complete re-scan faster than 6.2.1. Not sure if thats real or not though. Anyway...artist list behaviour. I have Slim set up to group compilation albums together. My comp albums all have the COMPILATION tag set to "1" and they all have artists listed for each track. Slim 6.2.1 and 6.2.2 handles this correctly. If you open the Browse Artist list, you see Various Artists within which my Comp. album artists live. These artists are not listed along with the other non-compilation albums. Good so far. HOWEVER...if you browse artists by genre, all those compilation album artists are listed with the non-comp album artists (the Various Artists list is still present as well). Is this normal behaviour or a bug? Its an annoyance to me more than anything. If I'm looking for music via genre, I'd like artist list behaviour to be consistent, and not see compilation album artists listed along with the others. Any thoughts/feedback appreciated!
