After all these years of wireless, I finally killed the beast of inconsistency. I bought a 50 foot ethernet cable online, drilled some holes in the floor, and routed the cable from the computer in the den all the way over to my now ancient SB2 in the family room. Viola! now flawless, never

try it wired of the problems goes away you have a wifi issue (which is not uncommon as these things change over time ,neighbors do stuff or other sources of interference appear ,so it does not have to be you changing anything ). You notice if it's starwed for bw if it can play low bitrate mp3

well, I used the Wifi analyzer app in my cell phone and it has a spectrum analyzer type display. It claimed my channel was fairly free. There was a signal about 20dB down that would occasionally pop in the view, but that is all. I am on ch 4. Ch 1 looked completely open, so I changed the channel

First of all, how are your friends connecting and attemting to play music? What players are they using at their end? What format is the music stored in on your server? If they are trying to stream high bitrate music across the internet it is likley that this will fail as the player at their end

There is definately buffering of live streams but in playback mode the buffer is not maintained in the full state as it is for playing of local files. The comments in the health page are really trying to say - if you see low buffer fill when playing remote streams this is not a problem. If you
