It's a simple matter of product misrepresentation. From Slim Devices' web site: "Supports both WPA Personal, WPA2-AES and 64/128-bit WEP encryption" Slim Devices has known for over six months that WPA2-AES doesn't work, yet they continue to misrepresent! -- jcyr --

Um, Roku didn't even support WPA last I looked. Or 802.11g. WEP and 802.11b only. WPA/TKIP hasn't been broken (yet). WEP is trivial to break. If you are willing to accept degrading your entire network to 802.11b and running WEP, being wide open to the world and slow... why aren't you willing

You mean Slim's lack of WPA2-AES support!!! As far as I can tell *nobody* has had any success with WPA2/AES. I chose Slim over Roku because it advertized WPA2/AES support and Roku didn't. The web site still claims AES support eventhough this problem has been known for nearly 6 months now, but stil

AES is optional in WPA, and is not supported by many AP vendors. Slim's AES support is for WPA2-AES, where the AES method is mandatory. See the WAP and Router Compatibility list: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?RouterStatus. -- MrC ---
