Well I don't know about playlists cause I never use them. But maybe
this will help answer your question. I just installed v7 over 6.5 and
the installer uninstalled 6.5 in the process before installing sc7. I
would guess that your playlists will be safe because my
\SlimServer\server\Playlists
Same here. It doesn't seem to migrate existing settings either which is
a bit of a pain.

Migrating on my Mac, SC picked up the music library and playlists
folders from where they were in SS 6.5.
Some things are differently organised (or need new versions of the
plugins) between the two. I am not sure exactly what was transferred
and what wasn't.

Forgive me if I've overlooked a previous recommendation, but I'm
wondering if I can simply install over the top of 6.5.4, or if
uninstalling/reinstalling is more bulletproof.
My biggest concern is loosing playlists
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
