I was happy with this product back in version 6.3 or so but since I've downgraded to version 6.5 I've had nothing but problems. The slimserver just inexplicably stops running during the middle of a playlist. Quite embarrassing in the middle of a party. Happened twice in the same night. In addition, I'm getting ready for another party (tomorrow night!...New Year's Eve) and I can't even get my playlist loaded. Everytime I browse the playlist the slimserver stops. Being a good sport and seeing that other people were having similar problems I downloaded version 6.5.1. Same thing. Note that I did a complete uninstall including deleting the entire slimserver directory before re-installing.
I am running Windows XP Media Center on an HP Pavilion (Intel Pentium 3.0 Ghz with 1.5 GB Ram). Ample hard drive space as well. Slimserver is running on the C: drive in the default directory. My music in located on the D: drive (All local to the machine). When I select playlist from either the html site (again local to the slimserver machine) or from the squeezebox the slim server stops) I am using a Squeezebox 2 BTW. I can't tell you how many hours today I've been working on this today. I really thought I was buying a real product and shouldn't have to search through error logs etc. just to get it to work. I'm not trying to do anything fancy, just create a playlist and play it. Annoyed and Disappointed, C.
