To advance any further you'll need to install Linux on the PS3, without
it you won't be able to communicate directly with Squeezebox Server.
I just run PS3 Media Server alongside with Squeezebox Server on my
server, to access my music library from the regular interface of my
PS3.

If you're looking for syncing, I think you'll end up needing another
hardware player. I bet you could pick up a used SBR for not too much cash.

local music and I think stream as well. PlayOn costs money, and really
isnn't to good on streaming local media as yet, but you might take a
look at that program as well.

The PS3 does include a UPnP client/endpoint/renderer or whatever, and
so it might be possible for something to offer the existing SBS
stream.mp3 via UPnP, which you could then find on the XMB of the PS3 and
could play. I've never tried that, though, so it's just an idea - you'd
