My daughter age 12, has the "rain and thunder" effect running every
night on her SB. Every night since I showed her this feature, more than
1 year ago...

I use an mp3 recording of my old sony bedside alarm clock radio, which
I have used on all of it predecessors, Pure Bug, Roku Radio, and now
Squeezebox Boom.
I like a bit of continuity when waking up in th

I agree with this... I do wish there were a few sounds that just
sounded like your typical alarm clock beeping, ringing and/or buzzing...
I am currently using the local newsradio about 30 minutes before I
Thank you andynormancx and andy now I have two sources of interesting

Yes, it will. Yes, all of them. Yes, SoftSqueeze as well. What ?
I SAID ALL OF THEM !
I want more birds , why not a separate bird category.
I use "meadowlark" on sundays as alarm,
Would be nice to have a set of different birds and shuffle that.
Thinking of simply DL some bird sounds and do me a bird playlist.
Maybe not include crows ravens seagulls and bickering vultures :)

Hrm, sounds like I need to bring my mics around town and do some
recording. I would love to have a sound loop called Zeitgeist. :)

I'm going to hi-jack this thread because it deals with Sounds &
Effects.
Any chance that a Bar & Pub Ambiance sound effect could be added? Just
some bar chatter or something like that. It would be fun to play that
downstairs in the bar area if I ever finish it. :P
Thanks.

Sounds & Effects are downloaded only once and looped within the player.
You won't waste bandwidth with them.

My wife and I have, for years, played nature sounds on our alarm clock
to go to sleep. I am hoping to do the same with the Boom. My problem is
that I am bandwidth limited (i.e. if I exceed 200MB/day I get throttled
back to intollerable speeds - no options on this point).
Rather than 'waste' my da

I worked in a motorcycle shop for some years (Triumph and Vincent).

You're lucky. My little lad's Grandma introduced him to "Morningtown
Ride" by The Seekers, and I stupidly stored it as a favourite and then
showed him how to play it. This was an error.

Yamaha TZ, Honday CRX or other sounds. Blubba Blubba is not the only
motorcycle sound

Well, my 3 year-old son thinks they are quite a fun way to pass the
time. He asks me to "Put on the sounds" and then he happily clicks
away at them. The trains/motorcycles are a favorite, although he's
also keen on the nature sounds...

How did this feature come into existence?
