Hi all,
I have two squeezeboxes and the same problem has developed on both of
them although it spontaneously fixed itself on one. So this must be a
common problem although I couldn't find any reference with a search.
You know how the squeezebox display goes dimmer when you dont press any
buttons
If you use the brightness button on the remote to set it how you like
for either state, then it should get saved to your settings.
If not you can check Player SettingsDisplay from the web interface,
where you can specify brightness when on and when idle.

You can set the brightness for on, idle and off state in the web ui
under player settings - display.
