Thanks for all the suggestions: you are right it was a network issue all
along.
Maybe because I was using UDAP and not the SBC for setup.
Anyway problem was solved by:
- assigning static IP to SBS and SBR via the wifi router interface
- setting lan_ip_mode=0
- setting the lan_gateway to the route
Normally it should not be a problem for the receiver to find the server
again after a server reboot, it should not stay blue but shift to dull
white, this works for most of us ?
Assuming you have choosen the reciever as a player on the controller,
if press "my music" does the reciever then finds
There is another bug with switching back: your server remembers the IP
address of the computer, when the server starts. If it changes later
(because of a sleeping server and a router that later assigns a new IP)
the server tells MySB.com its old address and the player tries to
connect to this old
Are you running some sort of firewall? My Duet was highly temperamental
on switching and firewalling surely wasn't helping.
Also I think I found relief once by removing the player from mySB and
adding it again.
You could try using the Server Power Control plugin (thread in 1/3
party plugins subf

You may want to check out 'SvrPowerCtrl'

I think such a function makes perfect sense. Actually the squeezeboxes
should switch to whatever server is configured and available whi
My SBS is on my desktop PC which isn't left on all the time. I was
hoping that the SBR could switch to MSB when the PC is off.
The other thing is that when the SBS (PC) is shutdown, the SBR goes
blue (I know this is normal) but won't reconnect automatically when SBS
is back online until unplugged
I don't understand why you would keep switching... if you have a proper
SBS server, why not use it all the time? MSB is really for people
without local servers.

Many thanks for that - it does work, but like all the switching methods
I have tried (squeeze commander, SBS web interface) the receiver sits
in a kind of limbo after the switch (i.e. not connected to either SBS
or mySB) until I unplug it then plug it in again. Then it connects to
whichever server

To go from SBS to mysb on the SBS web interfac
Is there any way to switch apart from using the SBC?
I'm using squeeze commander but there is a bug which requires the
receiver to be reset after switching.
Would be nice to be able to switch from within SBS interface.

Yes - very true..your directions give a permanent root-level way to
quickly switch between the 2 servers..

That will work to access your Favorites on MySB.com, but this does not
actually switch the player to MySB.com.

Is there a convenient way to switch between the squeezebox server and
the squeezebox network?
I recall that it was a simple menu item on the SBC, but I can't seem to
find that selection any more...
Thanks!
