The SB2 also remains my favorite product, the Touch is a worthy
successor, the Boom a great add on.
The Duet was a mis-step - as I got a replacement battery for the
controller I realized the concept is not made to last. That will
probably be the last time the battery is available. :(

First of all, I'm glad to have found this Community. Have been reading
for hours and days, before I bought my SB products, and now that I have
them I still keep reading and learning. (You'll note I wrote SB
product*s*).
You see, just a few days ago I bought a new Touch. Connected to my

I've stated it in other threads, but it's true that my Duet and Boom
have changed the way I listen to music. Music has always been
important to me, but just having local stations and a few CD's kept me
from having it on all the time and, more importantly, exposing myself
to more depth and
Thank you Squeezebox to help me to clear the living room. I get rid of

place.
I truly enjoy the quality of sound of this device, even from Internet
radios.
Also, it's far more easy to listen music from Squeezebox Server than a
Fantastic thread. I wonder how many other products can boast such a

For my own part, I still have the feeling that I came to the party a
bit late - I think my first SB product was an SB3, probably about 6
years ago, although I do have a couple of earlier models that I THINK I

Slim Devices changed my life.
I have always been an avid listener, LPs, CDs, radio, and short wave
broadcasts.
Slim Devices brought short wave listening up to high end stereo.
I listen to BBC, France Musique or Radio Orfey from Moscow at CD
quality.
I have a few SB2, SB3, Radio and Touch.

No other gadget has stood the test of time as well as my Slim Devices
players have. I have 1 SB1, 3 SB1g's, an SB2, and a Duet that I use
daily. They all do what I need them to do brilliantly, and they've
only gotten more capable over the years.
I'll echo what others have said about the
Agreed. Ive been around since SB2/3 and slimserver 6.
Best money I've ever spent on any electronics. It has literally
transformered how I can listen to music. I'd still be happy even if
things hadn't changed since then.

I'd be devastated if my SB players stopped working. They are the best
gadgets in our house - and we have a LOT of gadgets :-)
I have an SB3 in the kitchen, SB3 in the study, and a Boom in the
bedroom. I also have a gap on the shelf ready to take another player

The original SLIM guys had a vision and it's actually stood the test of

Just spent a whole afternoon into early evening yesterday reading
newspapers and articles with my SB3 playing into my big system (with
the Electrocompaniet DAC and integrated amp). I made all my selections,
playlists and repeats from my iPhone using iPeng. I read a Stereophile

Bought an original SB but have now moved on to a Touch - that pushed me
into sorting out the artwork, since one could now see it - the sound
quality on the Touch is also fabulous - way better than the old SB,
although that really worked well too.

Started with SB2 and begged on this forum for a Boom-like Squeezebox I
could use outside and move around the house. Surprise! Got invited to
beta test the Boom after participating here for several years! Bought a
Duet at some point through a great deal on eBay, and also beta tested

I have purchased the following (in order,)a squeezebox boom, squeezebox

The Boom was my first Squeezebox I purchased. It wasn't cheap, but I
wasn't disappointed. It was worth the money. It has a slightly clumsy

Despite my struggles with the software at times, I have enjoyed all my
Squeezebox players. The biggest enhancement is the software for
Android and iOS that Logitech and third parties have developed.
I listen to more music now than I did when I was in college.
Thanks Slim Devices.

Welcome newbie ;-)
I bought my first SLiMP3 about 8 yrs ago (guesswork, I didn't google
it). Was a toss up between that an Audiotron(!). Still have it, in a
box somewhere. Amazed at howit just worked, straight out of the box.
Since then, an sb1, sb1g, sb2, 2xsb3, 2 radios, a boom a duet later I
Boxen sure beat the crap out of my old method of wiring computer-grade
Belkin cable to tape-corder switches and bridging line level between
tape-in and tape-out. (Of course, that was 1987.)

Having tried various 'internet' radio systems, I've got to say the SB
route is the best on offer! Beats all the others into the dust. The
media streaming is also excellent, at least for an old duffer like me!

Hi guys,
Just a little feedback here. I was an original SliMP3 owner who
upgraded to the Squeezebox and just yesterday got my Squeezebox2.
Watching your company grow over the years has been fun and seeing the
successive improvements in each device has been fantastic.
The SB2 is well built,
