Quite a mess to support a service available only in Norway and Denmark. Sounds like another marketing department idea. Is Aspiro actually going to develop a feed in another format for Squeezebox devices, or is this one of those "the ball is their court" things that aren't likely to ever happen?

My understanding is: 1. Linux based players (Radio and Touch) do native decoding of the 256kbit/s stream. 2a. Older ip3k based players don't do native decoding of any AAC format at any bitrate. 2b. Transcoding for ip3k players is done by the local server using faad. 2c. faad is not capable of tran

The problem is rather technical, but basically the 256k format is not a streaming format (MPEG-4 AAC), while the 96k one is (ADTS AAC). faad cannot transcode a streaming MP4 because it needs access to the entire file. -- andyg ---
