This time it was just me. I had forgot a test with APE tags and it seems
the contents of those were still present and unmodified after I changed
the ID3 tags.
However, I updated to the current release of SC (7.0 - 16561 - Red Hat)
this evening and it seems that the plugins I have installed (Alie
> SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 16093 - Red Hat
Could you please update to the very latest build? There have recently been a
few changes which might have an impact on this issue.

I have a few russian albums. Earlier I have transliterated text with
latin characters. Yesterday, I decided to start writing everything in
cyrillic.
The directory names of the albums are still i latin, while the
indivdual file names are written with cyrillic characters. Same for all
relevant tag
