Thanks. I will try these things out. The real reason for my question is
to achieve hdd hibernation. I have been reading the posts and have not
yet found a clear cut way to achive it. I do not know much about linux.

1, What is the use of mySQL database in slimserver?
2, If I do not use search and browse only by folder, do I still need
this database?
3. Is there a ways to reduce the size of this database?

playback like type of encoding and starting byte offset of music data,
