Does squeeze center automatically rescan the library at periodic
intervals? Is this configurable?
Thanks for your replies,

Definitely one of the cooler plugins I've seen around, but it is Linux
only at this point. Wonder if Mac OSX supports Inotify (or would that
be iNotify?)

Eric, just noticed your Rotel Equip. I also have a sqzbox connected to
an RX-1052 in living room and one hooked up to an RSP-1068 in the HT.
Love my Rotel & Sqzbox combos

Where is it? I can't find it. I was wondering why CDs I'd recently
ripped weren't appearing on my squeezebox... and the timed
rescan/update is missing in this new and "improved" Squeeze Center.
I even switched back to
Squeezecenter Settings/Advanced/Rescan Music Library.
If it's not there, check it hasn't been accidentally disabled in
Squeezecenter Settings/Plugins (about halfway down the page).

It's a plugin, always has been. Go to the plugins tab, make sure you
Well for a first post that's a great way to win friends and influence
people.
Why not just ask the question "can the auto rescan timer be set in
SC7?"

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...SB3+Stontronics PSU - Altmann

Just a thought...but did you download new versions of your plug-ins for
SC7? It may not be getting picked up because it's not a SC7 version

hmmm...hence the amnesia?
Anyway, you should be good to go now. My SC7 happily rescans each day
at 4
It appears that the automatic, scheduled, rescan is an update rescan,
not a start from scratch rescan.
Is there a good reason for this? I would prefer a clean rescan over
night - unless there is some loss impled by that which I'm not seeing.
