something I chose rather than 9000 which interfered with another

It is a WMA internet radio stream, and I want to listen to it in mp3

need this, as I want to try to list

I think there's a bug here, the title format should be visible for
stream.mp3 clients.

PERFECT.
That works great, JJZolx. Thank you very much!
This is a great solution for someone like me that only streams from one
location with a static IP (work). However, if your streaming IP changes
a lot managing the tag display this way could be a major PITA.
I think it would be great to

Well, the reason I don't use softsqueeze is that it doesn't work for my.
I have no problems connecting to my machine while I am work with
winamp, foobar2k, itunes, or any other media player. However, I cannot
get softsqueeze to work.
Regardless, do you know if it is possible to get additional in

I don't think anybody knows. I asked a similar questions a few weeks
ago, and nobody answered.

There has to be an easy answer to this I'm missing
I do a lot of streaming from my Squeezecenter to work. Works great,
no complaints music-wise.
However the tag set that comes across in the stream appears to
be only TITLE, ie, track number.songtitle. No artist or album
information.

As long as the hostname slim is in some sort of hosts file on each
client or there is a local dns that url will work. Without some sort
of nameserver or lookup file the url will have to use the IP address.

First, you cannot sync to stream.mp3
Secondly, some "special" stream such as AlienBBC will not play to
stream.mp3.
So to avoid these issues use an audio file or an mp3 stream when
testing stream.mp3

It should, but it is a 2-step process. Using the device to connect to
slim:9000/stream.mp3 gets you connected so slimserver, but you then
need to tell slimserver to start playing some tracks to that player.

Are you really using that URL? That may not work, try by IP address
instead.

I purchased Linksys wmls11b to go in our kitchen in the hope that, among
other things, it could sync with the SlimServer, but the stream.mp3
appears to be blank.
I blamed the device, but streaming from the PC has the same result. I
thought it might be the ReadyNas NV+ I'm streaming from didn't ha

to music from slimserver. With the way the buffering

Unfortunately, yes. SlimServer generates player IDs based on IP
address. Since you both appear to be coming from the same IP address,
it can't differentiate between you.
I thought a slight possibility would be that it may see you by MAC

Or is there another way to achieve the same result (without using the

It's not the graphical web UI, but some there are some commands to
manipulate a player's playlist and behaviour. Please see the documentation

Hi,
Is it possible to connect to SlimServer from a third-party mp3 player
using the url:
http://:9000/stream.mp3
and pass the track or playlist in the URL so the device receives the

I'm using SlimServer 6.2.1 from 11/15/05 on a linux platform. When I

This happens with XMMS and WinAmp. I get the same result if I'm

linux update that
