With current SC 7.1 you can FFW/REW (from WebUI, SB remote and SBC) Podcast and WMA streams as long as the broadcasting server supports it. Try it using BBC Podcasts (this link means you do not need AlienBBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/opml/bbc_podcast_opml.xml ) -- bpa -

For Podcats and WMA stream - FFWD and & REW work., For RealAudio, a beta of AlienBBC 2.01 for 7.1 is nearly ready. There will be an announcement. It uses standard FFW/REW controls and so works on SBC as well. -- bpa bpa's

Try a PIII, 500Mhz with 128MB! That's the only spare I've got!! I run mine on a P4, 1.8 with only 512 MB RAM. The other serious computers in the house all have a use, and I run a dedicated server. I'll upgrade one day. It's just nice to know I'm not missing much! -- amey01 --

Thanks for raising. I too have been putting off upgrading to SC7.x. Quite seriously, SlimServer is THE most important system I run - my music is the most important part of my life. If I lost my banking, internet access, word processing ability, et. al., I'd survive, but if I lost my music I'd be

If you ever like to synchronize multiple SBs *and* you have been having any problems with sync in 6.5, you should know that sync is much improved in 7.x. But like the others said, if it's working fine for you, leave it alone. -- aubuti ---

If everything is OK and you are happy then don't change. Reasons in the future for using 7.x 1. You buy a Duet or an SBC. 2. In 7.1 (not released yet) you can FFWD/REW in Podcast and WMA and BBC "Listen Again" streams. -- bpa -
