If a playlist contains items which are not in your database, the

The SB3 does not resolve any hostnames other than
www.squeezenetwork.com. If you use non-public hostnames they are going
to break on SN.

I might have fixed the issue, Slacker sessions were being cached for too
long. I wiped the cache and changed the session timeout length, please

Yep then you need to check the network settings on the SB, as it doesn't
have internet access. Go to Current Settings and verify you have valid
settings for gateway and DNS.

I have a simple solution, but it'll require you to download a 6.5.3
nightly build tomorrow. If we can't detect a working DNS server, we

No, SlimServer is a single-threaded process. When scanning, it might
use the second core, since scanning is a separate process. Also, any
transcoding can use the other core.

When SlimServer first starts up, we do a DNS lookup for www.google.com,
but this only hits your local DNS server(s), and only once at startup.
We don't actually connect to Google for anything, unless you've got an
RSS feed there or something.
Ah yes, there you go. GoogleBot is crawling your SlimServer. You need
to firewall it!

SlimServer does not use threads in any way. The only time you'll see
the second core/CPU being used is when other processes are running,
such as the scanner, or transcoders like LAME or FLAC.

Rhapsody in UPnP mode should work with up to 3 synced players. In SS7
you should be able to do the same and get sync with Rhapsody Direct.

This is a pretty nice stream actually, 192k too. I do hear some audio
glitches every once in a while, maybe this is from the extra surround
data? It also needs better formatted title metadata. :)

Well, the reason it was not caught by QA is because it's not a bug! Go
to Player Settings, and on the Basic Settings page look for Title
Format. Change it to something like "TRACKNUM. TITLE from ALBUM by
ARTIST" or one of the other choic
Yeah it's a bit confusing, the server formatting pref is for when you
view titles from the web interface. Player formatting is for viewing
on the player.

If strange things are showing up in the Browse menu, you are seeing
other UPnP media servers on the network. To disable UPnP, you need
SlimServer 6.5.3. Go to Server Settings -> Network, and choose
Disabled under the UPnP Client section.

Those are UPnP media servers. If those servers are not running on your
own network, you have a pretty serious security issue.

As of this afternoon, it looks like RadioIO's XML feed is back to
working normally, so older SlimServers should work once again. I'm
going to stick to proxying it through SqueezeNetwork in future versions

This stream is actually uncompressed WAV! It is not supported, because
we expect to see only Windows Media format on an mms URL.
I guess I should say, it's not supported in the firmware. :)
Transcoding does work as pointed out above.

SB1 will play FLAC transcoded to WAV. On an 11b wireless network be
aware that this may pose bandwidth issues.
