[Discuss-gnuradio] GMSK midamble template matching

I would like to identify the 26 midamble bits in each burst of GSM (GMSK) data. I hear that a lot of ppl use correlation to do this. However, I am struggling to understand how this technique could work due to the ISI from the Gaussian pulse shaping. It seems that the wavefrom of the 26 midambl

Hi I'm in a hurry writing this mail. I had a trip to Nigeria visiting the Tinapa opening ceremony. Unfortunately all my money has been stolen at the hotel where I stayed, by some armed robbers and since then I've been without any money and I'm even owing money to the hotel here. So I have only

[Discuss-gnuradio] Simulate transmission

Hello, I would like to simulate a transmission in order to test the configuration of the receiver's Costas loop. I'd like to mix the modulated signal to IF, add some noise and convert back to baseband for demodulation. The frequency value configured for channel selection at reception is to be sl

Isaac, You are right, the midamble waveform is dependent on the data bits occuring before the midamble. However, the dependency is just a constant phase offset. Therefore, correlation with the GMSK modulated midamble bits will still result in good correlation scores. One more point is that the
