I apologize my poor english (french I am).
I tried to install first GNUstep from regular debs upon Debian Testing. But
WilldMenus were buggy : horizontal menus were duplicated (for example, twice
services, and so on).
Si I tried the same way on Hardy Heron (Ubuntu 8.4) : same result, same

I had a GNUstep running a few weeks with Wmaker, GWorkspace and so on, all
from deb packages from Ubunutu Hardy, but with buggy printing. Well, GC
explained to me that Ubuntu packages were out of date. I was told to make it
all by myself from source, so I did it again with gnuste

Something I'm trying to understand : I build several things
(gnustep-startup, GWorkspace) and all seemed to get well done.
After that, I tried to load GWorkspace. But openapp was not found and it
failed.
I had to add the source GNUstep.sh in my .bashrc to be able to launch
GWorkspace : aft

I managed to build GNUstep and a few apps from svn and sources. Things seem
to be well done now : I can paste text or URL from/to GNUstep apps. Good !
But if I move or delete a file (so it is the same : moving to the Recycler)
, I have to wait a few seconds before I can move the file icon

I managed to build a consistent GNUstep upon Ubuntu and then Etoile on the
above. All the builds went fine.
I use .xsession because the Path expected by Etoile in setup.sh differ from
mine : no matter, I source GNUstep.sh in .xsession and all works fine. I

TextEdit.app. Now I can see CodeEditor and TypeWriter, but neither of them
seems to handle bash scripts. Not inside Inspector tools, nor with open
document menu, even I add them in GWorkspace Preferences.

To manage USB devices, I put ivman and pmount in my xsession. The auto
mounting is kept well in /media/usbdisk and I used to dismount it in a safe
way with wmmount dockapp. Because this was related to wmaker, I wonder now
how to manage this friendly inside GWokspace within Etoile.

When I run Wmaker, I can manage notifications like Ubuntu update-notifier
within docker, a systray dockable icon.
A simple test is :

What about notification within Azalea / AZDock :
