We will be having elections for the 2010 ACFUG board tonight. If you cannot make it tonight and wish to be nominated please email our Secretary John Mason ma...@fusionlink.com and myself at presid...@acfug.orgso that your name can be part of the election process.
The board is responsible for the direction of our group. They help decide on everything from what speakers to have to what sponsorships we will accept. If you have a drive and a passion for ColdFusion and especially our group, definitely consider joining the board. You will be able to understand the underpinnings that go behind all of our events from the monthly meetings to our cflunches to the special events we host. It is also a great way to meet your fellow enthusiasts. Additionally, it is the board that elects our offices such as president, treasurer and secretary, among other positions from year to year. I apologize in advance that I will not be making tonight's meeting due to illness. I have sent this to the discussion list, so that others that have participated on the board can also speak to why they have joined or the value they have received from doing so. We have a very solid core of members on the board, but we are definitely looking for fresh minds and ideas to join us in guiding the direction of ACFUG. I myself am running for the board again, but will be stepping down as president, following an unwritten two-term rule to keep fresh minds turning at the top. I hope you all have a great event tonight with Josh Adams of Adobe presenting upon ColdFusion Builder, something I was looking forward to attending, and I hope to see some new old faces on the board for our next year. Thanks, Cheyenne Throckmorton President ACFUG
